HI I’M LYNNE
Here’s a little about me. I have always had a passion for interior design, love creating mood boards and presentations using different colour palettes and welcome any opportunity to get creative.
I get the same thrill and passion working with our couples to create their wedding of their dreams as I did from my many years in my career as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor working in construction, creating buildings that will last for many generations. There are many similarities in the design and planning process with an emphasis on attention to detail but ultimately we are creating memories that will last a lifetime.
I am passionate about the environment, reducing our impact on our beautiful planet. I spent the latter 10 years of my construction career working with the likes of Tesco & Waitrose helping them to be more sustainable throughout the design and construction process. By hiring your decor you also can make a difference as this reduces the amount of new items being made and bought and then by reusing, repurposing and upcycling items. To coin one of my previous clients mottos ‘Every Little Helps’. We re-use all our props and packaging.
Rustic Rentals was the perfect business for me as I get to meet lovely people, am privileged to help our clients create their beautiful decor for their special events, to design and help style their unique weddings. I also have the opportunity to work with some amazing suppliers and in the most beautiful & inspirational venues.
I love to help you achieve aspirational, unique decor for your wedding and event. I encourage our clients to bring both their individuality and personality to their event by combining Vintage and modern accessories and repurposing items in a more modern way. We get to be creative together, your weddings is uniquely created for you, no packages or limited options of props.
If you think I can help you please get in touch.
My Inspiration
My inspiration for creating Rustic Rentals came about after planing our daughters wedding back in 2014 I got throughly and completely smitten by the wedding planning, decor and stying bug. This is where my love for decorating barns started as the wedding was in a listed Cotswold Barn where the design called for authentic vintage items for the barn wedding. Unable to find a company in Gloucestershire that was offering a hire service, I stated visting brocantes & flea markets curating our collection.
I often get asked what would you use this item for - that’s where you come in - you can use it however you like……. just let your imagination run.
My Passion
My family are my life, with 2 beautiful daughters and 5 small gorgeous grandchildren, including identical twins who keep us very busy.
I love nature, mountains, lakes, being by the sea and happiest when surrounded by nature. We’re lucky to have a holiday home in the French Alps, Haute Savoie and spend as much time as possible there skiing, hiking, water sports and of course scouring brocantes and flea markets to add to our collection.
I spend as much time as possible in our garden and flowers are a big part of my life. I think I am frustrated florist but I’m not confident to do this professionally but love putting together the floral displays for our wedding fairs.
I love meeting people, socialising, travelling, going to live events and being immersed in nature.
Fun Facts
I competed as a Junior Water Ski Racer over 14 miles for the South West,
I was the first lady to work and qualify as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in the South West back in 1979.
I adored my grey pony called Norway. We used to have donkeys from the beach for the winter for the girls and then spent many hours with their ponies and horses competing both locally and nationally. I still miss them but not the work - especially in the cold winters. .
Any excuse for coffee, tea and cake and of course my favourite tipple G & T.
